CITT/ICTS Gears Up for Rendez-vous 2026

Rendez-vous will take place from August 12-14.

The 36th edition of CITT/ICTS' annual conference, Rendez-vous, will take place from August 12-14 at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Arts, Department of Theatre' LabO spaces and Arts Court.

A program designed around professional development and skill advancement, community, and collaboration awaits participants, offering a wide range of workshops, educational sessions, roundtables, and panels covering key aspects of live performance production and led by experts in their field.

Topics include technical direction; production; stage management; lighting; sound; 3D printing; wireless technologies; systems networks; costumes; design; theatre architecture; health and safety; equity, diversity, and inclusion; and more. The IATSE Training Hub is back again this year, offering six training workshops on costumes, wigs, special effects makeup, and an introduction to Vectorworks.

The main conference program is complemented by two days of pre-conference training, multiple social events throughout the conference, and an exclusive tour of the National Arts Centre's theatre spaces. New this year, CITT/ICTS is partnering with PM/TDArts to offer a hybrid three-course series about the three building blocks of production management: time/money/people. Separate registration and fees apply for this series.

Rendez-vous also features a dynamic industry trade show featuring 25-plus leading manufacturers, distributors, organizations, and schools from the live production sector. Alongside the main trade show event are three events not to be missed: a stage track training with Triple E, a lighting fixture showcase presented by Christie Lites, and a loudspeaker showcase.

The trade show and all its events are open to the public, free to attend, and visitors can show up at any time for any of these events. Visitors are invited to present themselves at the LabO Box Office (entrance: 10 Daly Ave, Ottawa) to check in and receive a free visitor badge. This badge grants access to all trade show events.

Rendez-vous is open to all, with options for full conference and day passes (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday), a special offer for members of performing arts organizations and unions, a low student price, and a reduced fee for freelancers.

For conference and trade show information, registration details, sponsorship information, travel and accommodation offers, and more, please visit the Rendez-vous website: www.citt.org/annual_conference.html.
