CrewBrain Launches CrewBee, AI Assistant for Everyday Crew PlanningWith CrewBee, the German software manufacturer CrewBrain GmbH adds an intelligent AI assistant to its software that supports users directly in their daily work. The digital bee helps to find information faster, analyze projects, and handle recurring tasks more efficiently right inside CrewBrain. CrewBrain, launched in 2016 and rebranded in 2020, is the core product, helping schedulers and project managers keep track of their workforces. The product also supports other staff management features like time recording, leave management, risk assessments, and more. CrewBee is the latest iteration. "Bees stand for teamwork, diligence and perfectly organized collaboration, and that is exactly what we want CrewBee to reflect," explains Eva Pennekamp, head of sales at CrewBrain GmbH. "CrewBee is designed to accompany our users like a reliable colleague in their everyday work, to provide information quickly and to take time-consuming routine tasks off their hands. The name combines our CrewBrain brand with exactly this idea of intelligent support." The development of CrewBee, the company says, "is a response to the growing demand for artificial intelligence in everyday planning. Numerous conversations with customers made it clear that AI is now used as a matter of course in many areas of work and can also offer real added value in crew and resource planning." At the same time, CrewBee is the logical continuation of CrewBrain's AI strategy: last year, the company was one of the first providers in the industry to release its own MCP (Model Context Protocol Server) server, through which CrewBrain can be connected to external AI assistants such as ChatGPT. "Our customers want very concrete support in their daily work," says Sven Schlotthauer, managing director of CrewBrain GmbH. "With CrewBee we deliver exactly that: an intelligent assistant that prepares information in an understandable way, takes on tasks and relieves users in their everyday work." CrewBee is available to users as a chat assistant directly within CrewBrain. Users can ask questions about their projects, jobs or master data and receive relevant answers within a few seconds. At the same time, CrewBee supports users in operating CrewBrain and helps them find information faster. The company says, "CrewBee shows its strengths above all where several work steps or large numbers of records are involved: tasks that until now were mostly reserved for technically experienced users with knowledge of interfaces. For example, employee master data can be updated from a supplied list in a single pass, new records can be created or entire workflows can be triggered straight from the chat. A single instruction in natural language is enough, and CrewBee carries out the individual steps on its own, always within the scope of the respective user's existing permissions." A particular highlight is the new AI project overview. CrewBee analyzes projects automatically and points out possible gaps or open tasks. For instance, the assistant recognizes when staff with certain qualifications are still needed for individual jobs, when vehicles have not yet been scheduled, or when important project data is incomplete. Instead of checking every item manually, dispatchers and project managers receive a compact summary of the key points at a glance and can react in a targeted way. CrewBee will generally be available to all CrewBrain customers. Billing is transparent and based on actual usage. Depending on their plan, enterprise customers receive an AI credit included and can therefore use CrewBee without additional entry costs.
