Hitachi CP-WX8255 Projector Provides Tremendous Benefits to Olive Branch Community Church

Olive Branch Community Church with the Hitachi CP-WX8255 projector

After a less than satisfactory projection setup in Olive Branch Community Church in Corona, California, director of technology services Brian Norwood set out to upgrade the church's system. The solution was found in the Hitachi CP-WX8255 projector, meeting all of the church's visions.

"Our video and lighting was pretty rudimentary when I took over as director," explained Norwood. "I had a vision to extend the projected content out to a panorama and invest in enough lighting to make the environment the whole room instead of just the stage."

Olive Branch Community Church has an attendance of 900 to 1,000 people in multiple services on Sundays. The Hitachi projector is mounted on the ceiling and is projected onto a 16' x 9' screen. It is the centerpiece of a five-screen projection setup. For worship services, it displays motion backgrounds and lyrics, title and segment slides during speaking promotions, and virtually all of the video content. "The budget for this project was very small," explained Norwood. "I didn't even want to pursue it if the projector would not be able to do true HD, and be bright enough to make a major impact." The Hitachi CP-WX8255 met Norwood's needs. "The specs, reputation, and value of the CP-WX8255 made it an easy choice."

Ease of use was a big factor in making the right projector selection. "I think the CP-WX8255 is the very definition of easy to use," said Norwood. "We had it unboxed, up, aimed, sized, and focused in less than an hour."

The CP-WX8255 has been very beneficial to Olive Branch. "Our Church has left-center-right seating and the people in the center were really having to turn quite a bit to view any content. That was especially troublesome for worship, and you had to look across people to see lyrics," Norwood explained. "The Hitachi projector and center screen gives them a place of their own for worship content. Also it gives us a real tool in outreach as we finally have a display worthy of hosting movie nights or sporting events." In addition, the church members have been thrilled with the upgrade. "Our congregation loves the addition," Norwood added. "Honestly, not a week goes by without someone commenting on the improvement in the visual appeal of the service."
