Three New Partners at Schuler Shook

Giulio Pedota, Emily Klingensmith, and Joshua Grossman, Schuler, Shook

Schuler Shook congratulates Emily Klingensmith, IALD, IES, LC, LEED AP, Giulio Pedota, IALD, IES, LC, LEED AP, and Joshua Grossman, ASTC, as the firm's newest partners. Based in Schuler Shook's Chicago office, each new partner is recognized in the industry for inspired design approaches, commitment to clients, and invaluable leadership skills. Their contributions to their respective fields have fueled Schuler Shook's growth and acclaim as among the leading theatre planning and architectural lighting design firms.

Klingensmith began her career at Schuler Shook as an intern, became a valued collaborator, and is now a key designer and leader. Her work is visually and technically compelling, resulting in numerous lighting design awards. She has played an important role in the development of the firm's lighting internship program. Klingensmith's notable lighting design projects include Wintrust in Chicago, Bridgestone Americas Headquarters in Nashville, and Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center in Skokie. She is a graduate of the architectural engineering program at the Pennsylvania State University, a mom to two young daughters, and a busy volunteer at her neighborhood school and park.

Pedota worked in theatre and at an electrical engineering firm before focusing on lighting design for the built environment. This blend of experience gives Pedota added perspective and an ease with people from many backgrounds and industries. Pedota's notable lighting design projects include The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, The Chicago Board of Trade, and The Chicago Riverwalk. He enjoys traveling with friends and family, exploring the world and learning about architecture, art, and other cultures. He is an alumnus of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.

Grossman's collaborative style with projects and creative solutions stems from his years in technical theatre, after earning his BFA at Emerson College. He values fresh ideas in his theatre consulting approach and is involved in several projects with Schuler Shook's Chicago and Melbourne, Australia, offices. Grossman's notable theatre consulting projects include Kennedy Center - Terrace Theatre, Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, and The Theatre School at DePaul University in Chicago. In between consulting responsibilities, Grossman has helped to found a Chicago Off-Loop theatre company and a farther off-loop family. He is very fond of them both and remains actively involved with the latter.
