VOLUX Releases Phyton IP66-Rated Hybrid Profile Moving Head Following extensive development and testing, Volux announces the release of Phyton, a fully featured hybrid-profile moving head designed to serve as a high-output, all-purpose luminaire for demanding professional applications. Built around a 600W LED engine and a high-efficiency optical system, Phyton delivers up to 32,000 lumens with a native zoom range of 1.9 to 52 degrees, supporting both long-throw beam work and wide, flat spot projections from a single fixture. Phyton produces a true, concentrated beam with illuminance up to 200,000 lux at 5m, enabling long-distance projection without the use of lamps or lasers. Full blackout framing shutters are said to ensure precise beam shaping and clean edges, while maintaining consistent color rendering and projection quality across the zoom range. Zach Delzotti, CEO and lead product development at Volux explains, "Typically hybrids and beam fixtures either need a lamp, which not everyone wants lamp, or a Laser, which has regulatory boundaries. Also profiles can't really project a flat field of light with discharge or laser sources, so our LED engine and optical efficiency as a great accomplishment that achieves the best of all worlds." Color control is provided via CMY + CTO mixing, supplemented by a color wheel, high-CRI filters, and MINTRA minus mint/green adjustment for accurate color calibration across camera and eye-matched environments. The fixture includes an extensive effects package with static and rotating gobos, six layerable prisms on two planes, iris, dual frost filters, and a continuously rotating animation wheel, supporting complex aerial effects and textured projections. Rated IP66, Phyton is engineered for reliable operation in both indoor and outdoor environments. Despite its output and feature set, the fixture maintains a compact, lightweight form factor with emphasis on speed, agility, and low-noise performance. Phyton is designed as a single-fixture solution adaptable to a wide range of production, installation, and environmental requirements. Phyton debuted at LDI in Las Vegas and is available to the public now. Full specifications and more information can be found at voluxlighting.com/phyton/.
