Maestra Dubai Grows the Team

Richard Kleinsmit and Patrick Maxwell, Maestra Dubai

Award-winning event technical production specialist Maestra Dubai has added two new key management personnel -- Richard Kleinsmit, who will be looking after operations and Patrick Maxwell who is in charge of the new warehouse, with both an integral part of the team led by managing partner Tom Clements.

The appointments happen simultaneously to the company's move to new premises which more than doubles Maestra Dubai's warehouse facility.

"I'm very excited to welcome two people of Richard and Patrick's caliber on-board at the same time," comments Clements. "They both bring a huge amount of experience and some great personality attributes to our team. They share and appreciate our core values and I look forward to a very positive and productive working relationship going forward."

Kleinsmit comes from Cape Town in South Africa where he gained extensive knowledge in the event and brand activation world through freelancing and then owning and running his own successful company LymeLyte Events. He came to Dubai seeking new horizons three years ago.

Maestra Dubai was highly recommended to Kleinsmit by a friend not just as a potential employer but as a "one-to-watch" company and he initially worked on projects as a freelancer. "Within 10 minutes of meeting Tom I knew that they were friendly, switched-on, and most definitely going places ... and I really wanted to be part of it," stated Kleinsmit.

At Maestra, he will be liaising closely with all areas of the company -- the transport, warehouse, and technical divisions in particular -- coordinating their busy schedules, crunching numbers, and refining logistics for the diverse mix of projects and all the preparation involved. He will oversee the complexities of producing correct health and safety documentations as well as keeping an eye on operations once crews are on site, maintaining efficient, slick, and safe working practices at all times.

Kleinsmit understands the importance of personal relationships and how they make a difference to personal motivation and the whole vibe of a company.

"Tom's vision involves being flexible and providing an environment that values and encourages human effort and enables skills to flourish. This is really energising for all staff and crew -- freelance and full-time -- and a big part of why I wanted to work with Maestra and be part of that team committed to delivering the very best results."

In his spare time, Kleinsmit still really enjoys his music and maintains some professional club DJ slots as well as squeezing in a bit of kayaking.

Immediately before joining Maestra, Maxwell worked as a service manager for PRG-Gearhouse, so he is well acquainted with a busy and fast-moving technically advanced workspace ... and is calm under pressure.

Maxwell -- who cut his industry teeth working as a freelance sound engineer for bands and venues in-and-around the vibrant Manchester UK music scene was looking for a new and different role to which he could apply his experience and great communications skills.

"Maestra has as excellent reputation for delivering to the highest standards, a rapidly increasing client base and many interesting projects ... which ticked all my boxes. They are great people and there is also a real energy."

The scope of Maxwell's work will include organizing and running the busy warehouse, implementing systems, and practices to ensure processes -- from the project preps to the day-to-day equipment servicing -- are smooth and seamless.

He is also involved in the organization, design, and set up of the new warehouse which will include dedicated prep bays allowing workshops and environmentally controlled areas for sensitive kit as well as demo space.

Maxwell loves the can-do environment of Dubai and fully embraces some of the great facilities on offer there, like off-roading, going to the beach, snorkelling ... as well as a bit of bedroom DJ'ing.

"The new warehouse and these two appointments will help us continue delivering the optimum end product to clients" concludes Clements, adding "... and please watch this space for more news soon!"
