Benetton Group: Installs a Proel EVAC PA System in New Complex in Italy

For its new complex in Villorba, in the province of Treviso, Italy, Benetton Group chose a Proel PA system.

The building, which hosts an exclusive event center and the Museum of Racing Cars, now features a PROEVAC2 audio system, selected by Barzon & Dainese from Ponte S. Nicolò (PD), a company that operates in the field of industrial and civil electrical systems.

In detail, the company installed a 10-zone PROEVAC2 system with 20 speaker lines - two lines for each zone - for a total load of 4,000W.

The whole system is located in the control room and controlled by a centralized rack with microphone console from which all vocal announcements and, if necessary, prerecorded evacuation alerts are delivered. Every room and area of the building features EVAC speakers, positioned and interconnected using redundancy logic (line A+B).

The EN60849-compliant evacuation system, which is normally used to play background music and for paging purposes, is directly connected with the smoke and fire detection devices. Their sensors, strategically located throughout the building, send alert signals to the PROEVAC2 system whenever they detect danger, so that the audio system can start playing prerecorded vocal alarm messages according to the evacuation plan.

"As far as safety goes, surely it's a good sign that certain organizations are starting to pay a lot of attention to the selection of vocal evacuation systems," Alessandro Rendina, Proel 's AVL division technical manager, says.

"There's still a lot of work to be done with medium and small-sized companies on such an important issue, but Proel has committed itself to this and is trying to raise awareness on safety through technical seminars and by systematically updating its products in compliance with the latest safety regulations."
