CHAUVET Professional and ChamSys Bring New Ideas to PLASA London At the PLASA Show in London, September 7-9, CHAUVET and ChamSys are retaining the theme "True Colors Revealed" used at earlier trade shows this year. However, the companies stress they will present a new and different array of offerings. At the top of the list is the world trade show debut of the Maverick Force X Profile. The latest step in CHAUVET Professional's ongoing quest to reimagine moving fixtures, the 520W profile is already turning heads on the global touring circuit. Features include a 3.3-degree to 52.1-degree beam angle and a broad zoom range of 3.3 degrees to 58 degrees. Delivering an "unprecedented" output (19,640 lumens) for a fixture of its size (14.2" by 9.4" by 25.4"), the Maverick Force X Profile is billed as offering designers unparalleled freedom to position units in tight spaces, while also making it simpler, faster, and less physically demanding to set up and take down. Its illuminance ranges from 1,207 lux to 102,764 lux, depending on the beam angle. The secret is in its LED source, which does not require a large optical path or an extensive cooling system, the company says. Also to be shown: the Maverick Storm 1 Flex; the STRIKE Saber 10; the updated WELL family of fixtures; the COLORado Solo Bar, which is opening new frontiers in deck lighting design; and STRIKE V, a dynamic tilting strobe-wash with dual-layered pixel effects. Also new at the booth will be hands-on demonstrations of ChamSys solutions, involving the MagicQ MQ500M+ and MQ250M Stadium onsoles. This will provide visitors with opportunities to see how control solutions from GeNetix, MagicQ, and QuickQ can be deployed in venues of all sizes. Other new solutions include the GeNetix Node 4 IP, a compact IP65-rated four-port Ethernet-to-DMX node that comes with multiple rigging options. This product features one network port and four DMX outputs that can be used as either DMX in or out port status LEDs -- and it can be configured remotely over network via its built-in web server, Art-Net, or a ChamSys console. This year's PLASA booth features a new design by LD David Howard, which will facilitate communications between its staff of product specialists and visitors. ChamSys training will also have a new look, as it has been moved from a remote location to renovated training spaces upstairs from the show floor, where visitors can learn without noise or distractions. The sessions will cover a range of topics from "Introduction to MagicQ," to "Mastering Group Qs," as well as guest LD sessions with Howard and Joe Beardsmore.
