The Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) has awarded Auerbach Pollock Friedlander and the design team for the Michael Jackson ONE Cirque du Soleil Theatre, a 2014 TEA Award for Outstanding Achievement. The TEA Awards are in their 20th year and reward excellence for the creation of "compelling, educational, historical, and entertainment projects."

The former Lion King theatre was re-imagined as a permanent production space. Seating was reconfigured to allow optimal views of dancers on stage. Auerbach's team worked closely with the Cirque du Soleil creative team to realize the concept including the design of the performance systems to support the production such as stage machinery (rigging and automation), theatrical lighting control, and audio-video systems.

Video projections are a key element of the show. Auerbach Pollock Friedlander facilitated the integration of the comprehensive video system, designed by Cirque du Soleil, which allows for projections on almost every wall surface. The imagery projected visually envelopes the audience merging the stage and auditorium.

The Michael Jackson ONE Theatre at Mandalay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas is one of five MGM venues that Auerbach Pollock Friedlander has completed, providing theatre and audio-video consulting, and the show is the seventh collaboration Auerbach has had with Cirque du Soleil. The firm teamed with Moser Architecture Studio and Jaffe Holden Acoustics on the project.
