Award-Winning Marsha Stern Joins Acclaim Lighting

Marsha Stern, Acclaim Lighting

Acclaim Lighting, a provider of innovative and advanced lighting technology, has added Marsha Stern as a product specialist, serving the eastern United States. With extensive and impressive experience in the industry, Stern's career has covered many aspects of architectural lighting, including design, operation, and installation for more than 30 years. Her combined architectural and entertainment background enables Stern to educate architectural designers about the latest technology as "archi-tainment" lighting market continues to grow.

Her notable work includes FAO Schwarz and Warner Bros. Stage 16, as well as special events such as the New York Stock Exchange's 200th anniversary; New York Philharmonic's 150th anniversary; Museum of Modern Art's Party in the Garden; and even Whitney Houston's wedding. She received the IESNA International Illumination Design Merit Award for her contribution on the Bowdoin College's Thorne Hall project.

In her new role at Acclaim, Stern will be responsible for demonstrating, educating, and informing sales reps, customers, and designers/specifiers about the latest technology to ensure they meet performance requirements and confirm successful completion of projects and work with internal and external contacts to achieve customer goals. In addition, she will help identify product opportunities for Acclaim Lighting and its customers, as well as assist, create, and implement solutions and ongoing improvements.

"Marsha has been at the cusp of much of the technological crossover integrating automation and theatrical lighting in architecture today," said Eric Loader, director of sales for Acclaim Lighting. "In fact, she was one of the early programmer/technicians of robotic lighting, long before her career in architectural design began in 1996. She has been an integral part of a number of award-winning design teams that have implemented theatre and automation into their architectural lighting packages. Marsha's collaborative approach fits our company culture, and she will help us continue to grow and expand our sales network in highly competitive markets."

Stern is a member of the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) and Illumination Engineering Society of North America (IESNA New York Chapter). She was named to the first Lighting Dimensions editorial advisory board. She has also participated in various lighting technology and design conference presentations, including LightFair International (LFI) and Lighting Dimensions International/Entertainment Technologies (LDI/ET), the largest and most preeminent annual North American lighting technology conferences.
