Allen & Heath Presents "Live Sound Academy Masterclasses" and "dLive Certification" at AES@NAMM 2018

Allen & Heath live sound touring manager, Michael Bangs

Allen & Heath will present a wide range of must-attend classes at the inaugural AES@NAMM Pro Sound Symposium to be held concurrently with the 2018 NAMM Show.

Jeff Hawley, marketing manager for Allen & Heath USA commented, "We are proud to join a select group of respected pro audio manufacturers in support of AES and NAMM to provide top-tier training for engineers of all levels and backgrounds. Allen & Heath will offer something for everyone at this symposium from focused masterclass-style sessions to a full dLive certification class with InfoComm International Renewal Units (RU)."

Michael Bangs, veteran front-of-house and monitor engineer (Katy Perry, Eric Clapton, Aerosmith) and Allen & Heath USA live sound touring manager, will present three 60-minute "Masterclass" sessions to share tips and tricks accumulated over his years of experience on the road working closely with engineers of all levels.

As Allen & Heath's dLive Digital Mixing System has become the go-to console on the festival circuit, Bangs' first session, a specialized "Festival Mixing Masterclass," will offer hands-on training with emphasis on the quick changeovers needed in a high-pressure festival environment.

Focused on the unique needs of the church audio operator, Bangs' second AES@NAMM session, "House of Worship Masterclass," will demonstrate general concepts as well as dLive-specific tips and tricks for improving worship mix intelligibility and balance. Whether mixing for a congregation of 50 or 5,000, a single guitar and vocal or a full praise band and worship leaders, this session will present the skills to deliver an optimal audio experience.

Learn how to approach the all-important skill of creating an effective live monitor mix in Bangs' third session, "Monitoring Mixing Masterclass." Whether dealing with in-ear monitors, wedges, or a combination, Bangs will share guiding principles to help ensure success for the performers on stage and the best experience for fans in the audience.

In addition to these three Masterclass sessions, Bangs will present a half-day "dLive Certification Class" which offers InfoComm International Renewal Units (RU).

Rounding out the training series, Jerry Lopez (Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Chicano Batman, The Neighbourhood) will present "dLive en EspaƱol" (entirely in Spanish). Topics within this Masterclass include Allen & Heath dLive console operation, signal routing concepts, and system configuration tips for quickly setting up a basic mix.

Preregistration is required for all AES@NAMM sessions and seating is limited. Please refer to the AES website (http://bit.ly/aesnamm also below) for class schedules, locations, and other information.
