Following the announcement that Showlight 2029 will take place April 23-26 in Granada, Spain, it has released two more speaker presentation videos from 2025.

This month, experimental theatre lighting designer Jesper Kongshaug and prominent Italian-Argentine lighting designer Ezequiel Nobili showcase two very different approaches to storytelling through lighting.

Kongshaug's Beyond Illumination: The Experimental Language of Light in Performance and Public Spaces presents key examples of lighting and stage visuals for the internationally renowned performance group Hotel Pro Forma, as well as his exterior lighting projects.

Kongshaug also curates the Copenhagen Light Festival and lectures at leading cultural institutions worldwide. "Because of the great reaction to my presentation, a number of people travelled from the US to the Copenhagen Light Festival this year," he says. "I will return the complement by travelling to the BLINK light festival in Cincinnati this October where, I will also deliver a keynote speech to students on the Cincinnati University lighting design program."

Kongshaug's book on lighting in design is due for release later this year.

Lighting designer and member of the AAI (Spain's association of lighting and video authors), Nobili will be presenting MAYRIT. Light and vibration, a sensory experience for everyone, where he will describe creating an ephemeral site-specific work originally for LuzMadrid 2023, the Madrid International Festival of Light, which revalued the city's Arab wall. Using olfactory, tactile, visual, and auditory devices, it offered an accessible multisensory experience that dissolved boundaries, leaving a lasting mark in memory of participants.

Nobili is currently working on Carino, pasame el pan, a flamenco theatre production, an ephemeral facade lighting installation for a luxury retail store, and a museum exhibition lighting project in collaboration with lighting designer Nicolas Fischtel.

More speaker presentation videos from 2025 and previous editions can be viewed on the Showlight website, along with a taste of Showlight's Student Program: www.showlight.org/videos.
