Studiomaster Launches New Starlight Sound and Lighting PA Cabs

Carlsbro / Studiomaster international business development, sales and marketing director Paul Brewis, SCCS CEO Joey Walpert, Carlsbro / Studiomaster assistant general manager Patrick Almond

Following a prototype debut at last year's NAMM show, Studiomaster's Starlight sound and lighting PA cabinets generated what the company called just as much buzz and attention at this year's NAMM show in full production form, with both Studioking and new Soundking US group, SCCS, writing orders for this totally unique product.

Starlight, which created a major stir with dealers last year with its debut appearance, is now shipping. Speaking on the company's largest ever stand at NAMM, international business development, sales and marketing director Paul Brewis said, "We came to NAMM this year with a number of major new product series in final production form and with the launch of SCCS Inc. at the show, we have been able to offer these to dealers across America, as well as throughout most of the rest of the world."

The Starlight sound and lighting cabinet is a world first, fully integrating front-of-house, monitor sound and stage lighting, mixing and amplification, within a pair of portable trapezoidal PA cabinets. It provides a straight out of the plug-and-play performance solution for small scale touring artists, or an instant sound and light installation for small venues or temporary performance spaces; one that delivers substantial cost and man hour savings.

Comprising two stand or pole mountable, two-way 12" or 15" cabinets, Starlight combines 250W self-powered front-of-house reinforcement and a 50W powered side mounted monitor driver within each cabinet. Each cabinet features a rear panel mounted two-channel mixer with one balanced XLR mic and line inputs, and one with balanced XLR and stereo phono inputs. There is a three-band EQ and a separate monitor level control and input for a foldback signal from a mixing console. Each cabinet also incorporates a recessed side slot housing six high-power LEDs with dispersion lenses. The in-built lighting controller features 13 programs, including seven static colors, fade to color change, sound to light; brightness and speed are also adjustable. The Starlight cabinets are supplied as matched pairs, with the LEDs and monitors angled inward towards the performers' stage position.

The other major new Studiomaster product series shown at NAMM this year in final production form and already shipping, is the Horizon powered and passive professional portable mixers.
