Martin Launches 12 New Products at Prolight + Sound 2012

Martin Professional will introduce 12 new products at this year's Prolight + Sound, March 21-24, in Frankfurt. Included will be the world premiere launch of their new breed of moving head -- the MAC Viper family, the company says.

Martin will be highlighting the first members of the new MAC Viper family at Stand A93 in Hall 9. Also on display will be new moving heads in Martin's popular MAC III family, an all-new VC series of creative LED video solutions, new portable lighting controllers in the M-Series, and a new compact hazer in Martin's Jem family.

In celebration of the company's 25th anniversary year, an informal "meet and greet" will be held each day at 4:00pm in the Martin stand. On March 22 at 6:30pm, a special "Martin Welcome Party" at the Agora Stage, will include an evening of live music and lively conversation. Also on March 22, Martin product manager, Matthias Hinrichs, will be at the Media Systems Congress where he will hold a talk on the "Integration of Video and Lighting Elements."

The new Viper family of MAC moving heads is a whole new breed of luminaire from Martin Professional. It features a combination of intense light output from advanced lamp technology and an innovative feature set on the leading edge of the evolutionary scale, according to the company.

The MAC III AirFX is a versatile, mid-air effects luminaire in Martin's popular 1500W MAC III family. Capable of projecting a dense, hard-edge beam with mid-air aerial effects, the fixture's optical system allows it to adjust from a tight beam to a radiant wash instantly for greater design flexibility, the company says.

The MAC III Wash is a wash luminaire with a unique internal barndoor system (shutters) and follows the MAC III AirFX as the latest 1500W moving head in Martin's MAC III family. Designed as a full-feature, full-range wash light with outstanding light quality and output, the MAC III Wash houses a new internal barndoor system, enabling designers to shape and control the light. The company states the light output is constant throughout the entire zoom range with a fully linear zoom that gives no visible beam jump from tight to wide.

Martin launches the world's first series of "true video" products to combine an all-new level of simplicity with a high level of quality. Instead of relying on DMX, new creative LED video elements like Dots and Grids are driven by Martin's P3 system controller family. No more complicated setups involving DMX pixelmapping, loose power supplies, tons of cabling, and time-consuming addressing procedures, according to the company.

Part of the series is formed by a variety of video dots called VC-Dot 1, VC-Dot 4, and VC-Dot 9 (each offering a different size and brightness). VC-Dots are used for integrating LED video technology into a façade, stage design, ceiling, or any other structure (indoors or out).

Also available is the VC-Grid 25, a small, 200 x 200mm LED video module with 25mm pixel pitch. Its compact size makes it suitable for integration into stage designs, set elements, lobbies, creative ceilings, and more. Used with or without a front diffuser, multiple VC-Grids can be combined in a countless variety of ways for ultimate design freedom, the company says.

All creative LED video products are supported by the P3 PowerPort 1500, an integrated power and data processor with flexible installation options. It eliminates setups involving different types of power supplies, custom cables, and loose converter boxes, supporting all products in a simple daisy-chain of hybrid cable, the company says.

Equipped with a dual-core processor, the M2GO is a powerful lighting console in a smaller form. It offers a professional level of features in a portable package and has been developed with cost, ergonomics, feature set, size, and weight in mind, according to the company.

M2PC is the complementary control surface to Martin's M-PC controller software. Featuring the same layout and portable size as the M2GO, the company says the M2PC delivers a professional level of features directly from any PC. The Martin M2PC is a powerful and affordable PC-based lighting controller.

The Jem Compact Hazer Pro is a versatile new haze machine from Martin Professional designed for the professional market. It produces atmospheric haze effects in a short period; low noise operation at slow fan speeds allows it to be suitable for noise-sensitive environments.
