Alcons Audio's LR24 Pro-Ribbon Line-Array Nominated at Debut PIPA Awards

Alcons' LR24 large-format pro-ribbon line-array element

In the 15th year of the annual Musikmesse International Press Award (MIPA), a brand new "sister" awards scheme has been announced which recognizes excellence in the professional lighting and sound industry. One of the debut nominees is the Alcons Audio LR24 pro-ribbon line array.

As with the MIPA scheme for the musical instrument industry, voted for by over 100 magazines from across the globe, the Prolight + Sound International Press Awards (PIPA) will determine the best professional sound and lighting products of 2013-14.

The winners will be presented during the Prolight + Sound show in Frankfurt and, with MIPA claimed to be the "Grammys of the MI industry," it is expected that PIPA will attain a similar status.

The Alcons LR24 has been nominated for a PIPA in the Concert Sound category, recognizing the innovation which allows it to deliver the same SPL as equivalent products in the larger-format line array category, but with up to 90% less distortion.

Utilizing the company's pro-ribbon technology, the company says LR24 sets a new benchmark in terms of SPL, projection control, and sound quality. It features the purpose-designed RBN1402rsr, 2000W 14" pro-ribbon transducer.

"We are really pleased that the technical advance of LR24 has been recognized by being nominated for a PIPA, especially from so many publications from across the globe," says Alcons co-founder Tom Back. "Prolight + Sound Frankfurt marks the official market introduction of the LR24 system, so being able to kick-off with this nomination will give it a definite head start."

Visitors to Prolight+Sound 2014 will be able to hear for themselves why the LR24 has been nominated for a PIPA, with Alcons hosting off-site demonstrations of the product on the afternoons of Wednesday, March 12, and Thursday, March 13. Reservations can be made info@alconsaudio.com or at the Alcons Prolight + Sound stand at Hall 8, stand G60.

The PIPA ceremony takes place in Hall 5.0 on Thursday March 13 at 6:30pm. More information can be found at www.pipa-award.com.
